Our client is South Africa's leading multi-media trade and technical magazine publishers and exhibition organisers focused on the Mining, Plumbing, HEVCAR and Construction industries and they are looking for a Driver and Stand Builder to join their team as soon as possible.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Driver of the MTE truck and company vehicle; build up & break down of the MTE Exhibitions,; maintenance and cleaning of all Exhibition equipment
- Build up and break down all exhibitions safely and efficiently using checklists
- Drive the truck and company vehicle to and from any exhibition safely and efficiently and obey all traffic rules
- Maintain equipment and keep equipment clean
- Administration
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build Up & Break Down of Exhibitions:
- Accompany MTE on all Exhibitions during the year
- Efficiently build up and break down of exhibition stands and tents
- Check that all work is correct, neat and on time
- Be on site for the duration of the exhibitions and sort out any technical problems with MTEs equipment
- Assist the team at the exhibitions as required according to expo day job descriptions
- Ensure the venue is clean when leaving
- Follow all required checklists
Maintenance of all Exhibition Equipment
- Immediately report missing, broken or faulty equipment timeously
- Ensure that all exhibition equipment is maintained & cleaned at all times
- Assist with a regular inventory to ensure equipment is accounted for
- Follow all required checklists
Driver for Mining & Technical Exhibitions
- Drive the MTE trucks with the exhibition equipment safely to and from the Exhibitions
- Responsible for the cleanliness and well-being of the truck used
- Report any concerns should the truck not be performing or damaged
- Report any accident or damage to manager and SAPS on same day
- Equip himself with the legal required license to drive the truck and comply with AARTO legislation
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements relating to the truck, i.e. current license disc, etc.
- Checking the truck is roadworthy every time it is being used
- Ensure regular servicing of truck
- Pay all AARTO and other fines received for traffic infringements
- Follow all required checklists
Driver for Media Company
- Drive the company vehicle (Ford Bantam) safely to required destinations
- Collect and deliver post, material and magazines as directed for the publishing division
- Responsible for the cleanliness and well-being of the vehicle used
- Report any accident or damage to manager and SAPS on same day
- Report any concerns should the Ford not be performing or damaged
- Equip himself with the legal required license to drive the company vehicle and comply with AARTO legislation
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements relating to the vehicle i.e. current license disc, etc.
- To check the vehicle is roadworthy every time it is being used
- Ensure regular service of the vehicle
- Pay all AARTO and other fines received for traffic infringements
- Follow all required checklists
General & Administrative Requirements
- Keep own skills and knowledge up to date, especially in respect of subjects that are directly relevant to the job, i.e. routes, traffic, and legislative requirements in respect of driving a truck and vehicle.
- Undertake any training required.
- Ensure all logbooks and expenses are submitted monthly.
- Assist with training others as required by management.
- Comply with company dress code and maintain a smart, business-like appearance at all times.
- Comply with and use all company systems, procedures and policies.
- Present a supportive, positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the job, the company and your colleagues at all times.
- Actively promote the benefits of the company and its media and events and ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements and legislation.
- Report any work related accident on day of occurrence
- Perform any other reasonable job-related task as requested by management.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric
- Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly advantageous
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Min 2 - 3 years experience in a similar position
- Valid, unendorsed drivers license (Minimum Code C1)
- Excellent driving skills
- General knowledge of SA/SADC roads and directions
- Experience with build-up & break down of exhibition stands and tents
