Our client is South Africa's leading multi-media trade and technical magazine publishers and exhibition organisers focused on the Mining, Plumbing, HEVCAR and Construction industries and they are looking for a Telesales & Subscription Sales Consultant to join their team as soon as possible.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for achieving set sales targets and budgets and marketing of company products and services

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales
- Drive new business strategy for product in line with company objectives
- Identify and convert sales opportunities within our industry.
- Close deals independently, meet required company budgets for existing and new business and proactively find alternative solutions to meet budgets where there is a possible shortfall.
- Meet all company deadlines.
- Proactively escalate issues and shortfalls giving proposed corrective action.
- Actively sell to and maintain the accounts of current advertisers if applicable
- Comply with all company and sales department reporting requirements.
- Market to Clients the complete multimedia advertising opportunities at all times (Online, Print, Directories and Exhibitions) across products if applicable.
- Listen to clients needs and requirements and tailor make advertising options accordingly.
- Comply with all company procedures relating to the sales order process and capturing orders on the system.
- Identify and maintain good relationships with Advertising Agencies if applicable.
- Accurately maintain and update sales schedules / database.
- Administer and chase quotes.
- Assist Finance to collect outstanding money owed by Debtors and comply with relevant finance risk controls.
- Attend sales and production meetings.
- Liaise with editorial department and capitalise advertising leads if applicable.
- Actively contribute to publishing meetings, providing relevant feedback from the market.
- Keep clients aware of correct material specifications and deadlines.
- Keep up to date with rate cards and advertising prices of competitors.
- Adhere to deadlines and ensure they are met.
- Accurately file all correspondence relating to clients.
- Feedback and capture opportunities and leads on the required system.
- Take responsibility for the Sales Administrator work.
Marketing
- Gather information in marketplace concerning publications and industry.
- Attend exhibitions, client launches and promotions (including after hour functions).
- Attend official body meetings relating to industries, including after hour meetings.
Customer Service
- Seek information to understand customers circumstances, problems, expectations and needs.
- Educate customers by sharing information with customers to build their understanding of issues and capabilities.
- Build collaborative relationships by building rapport and a cooperative relationship with customers.
- Place importance on taking action to meet customers needs; avoid over-commitment.
- Implement effective means for monitoring and evaluating customer concerns, issues and level of satisfaction with product or services.
General & Administrative Requirements
- Keep own skills and knowledge up to date, especially in respect of subjects that are directly relevant to the job, i.e. competitive publications, local affairs, legislative requirements.
- Undertake any training required.
- Ensure all expenses are submitted monthly.
- Assist with training others as required by management.
- Comply with company dress code and maintain a smart, business-like appearance at all times.
- Comply with and use all company systems, procedures and policies.
- Present a supportive, positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the job, the company and your colleagues at all times.
- Actively promote the benefits of the company and its media and events and ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements and legislation.
- Report any work related accident on day of occurrence
- Perform any other reasonable job-related task as requested by management.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric
- Relevant tertiary qualifications will be highly advantageous

- Min 3 years experience in a sales role
