About the Role
A leading community-based organization known for person-centered services is seeking Direct Support Professionals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization provides residential, community, and day support services that help each person live a full, independent, and connected life. Full-time, part-time, and per diem schedules are available, including days, evenings, and weekends. No prior experience is required for candidates with the right heart and reliability; paid training and certification support are provided.

Direct support staff receive paid orientation, shadow shifts with experienced team members, and ongoing training in areas such as person-centered planning, positive behavior support, and medication administration. Supervisors are accessible and supportive, schedules are built to be consistent week to week, and there are clear paths to grow into lead, coordinator, and supervisory roles for team members who want to advance.

Core Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living skills including personal care, meal preparation, and household routines
• Follow each person’s individual support plan and help them work toward personal goals
• Assist with medication administration after completing required certification
• Provide transportation to appointments, work, and community activities
• Encourage community participation, relationships, and independence
• Document daily notes, progress, and incidents accurately and on time
• Recognize and report health, safety, or behavioral concerns promptly
• Use positive, respectful approaches and de-escalation techniques when needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment
• Communicate professionally with families, guardians, and team members
• Support individuals in making their own choices and speaking up for their needs and interests
• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and planning sessions for the people you support

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
• Ability to complete required state DSP training and certifications within the timeframe set by the employer
• Current CPR and First Aid, or willingness to obtain through paid training
• Experience in caregiving, healthcare, education, or human services preferred but not required
• Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements
• Patience, reliability, and a respectful, encouraging communication style
• Willingness to work some evenings, weekends, or holidays as scheduled

Benefits & Pay
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour, based on experience and schedule.
