Pay/Compensation: $101,200 – $129,030 per year

A national accounting and advisory firm with a growing tax practice is hiring a State and Local Tax Senior Associate focused on income and franchise tax. This role blends compliance and consulting work for a diverse portfolio of corporate and pass-through clients. Core Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review state income and franchise tax returns and provisions
  • Research multistate tax issues including nexus, apportionment, and filing methods
  • Support consulting projects such as voluntary disclosures and refund reviews
  • Draft technical memos and client deliverables with clear recommendations
  • Coach and review the work of associates on engagement teams
  • Communicate directly with client tax departments on requests and findings
  • Track state legislative changes and share updates with the team
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • State and local income tax experience in public accounting or corporate tax
  • Working knowledge of multistate apportionment and nexus principles
  • Experience with tax software such as OneSource, CorpTax, or GoSystem
  • Strong research, writing, and client communication skills
  • CPA license, or active progress toward licensure
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Taxation or advanced tax coursework
  • Big Four or national firm tax experience
  • Experience with ASC 740 state tax provision work
  • Exposure to partnership composite and withholding filings
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
