Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Pay Rate: $45.83 – $47.83 per hour

Position Overview
A well-established healthcare organization seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for a 90-day onsite contract in Silver Spring, Maryland. This role supports a busy birthing unit requiring strong clinical judgment and composure under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum patients
• Monitor fetal status via continuous electronic fetal monitoring and interpret tracings
• Administer oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and other high-alert medications per protocol
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries and support the OR/scrub role as needed
• Recognize and escalate obstetric emergencies including shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage, and eclampsia
• Educate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, and newborn care
• Document nursing assessments and interventions accurately in the EHR

Requirements

• Active RN license in good standing (compact or Maryland)
• Minimum 2 years recent Labor and Delivery experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NRP certification required
• Proficiency with electronic fetal monitoring
• Must reside 60+ miles from facility (travel assignment requirement)

Preferred Qualifications

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
• OR/scrub experience for cesarean delivery
• Epic EHR experience
