Pay Rate: $110,552 per year

Position Overview
Our client is hiring CDL-A team drivers for a dedicated refrigerated team account running produce freight out of Northern California. Freight on this fleet is refrigerated, no-touch, running distribution centers in IL, MI, OH, NJ, MA, GA and FL, with return loads back to California. Home time comes every two weeks, giving you a clear, repeatable schedule you can plan your life around while still running the miles that make the paycheck.

Key Responsibilities

• You will operate a Class A tractor-trailer safely and legally at all times, completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring your hours of service, and keeping your logs accurate and current in accordance with federal regulations and company policy
• You will transport freight on schedule across distribution centers in IL, MI, OH, NJ, MA, GA and FL, with return loads back to California, following assigned routes, planning fuel and rest stops sensibly, and communicating proactively with your fleet manager when weather, traffic, or a customer delay puts a delivery window at risk
• Teams pick up in the Gilroy, CA area and deliver to distribution centers across the Midwest, Northeast and Southeast, with backhauls returning to California
• Freight is no-touch with live load and live unload at both ends
• You will verify load counts, seals, and paperwork at pickup and delivery, secure freight correctly for transit, and complete bills of lading and delivery documentation accurately so the customer's records and yours agree
• As a team operation, you and your co-driver share responsibility for keeping the truck moving legally and safely, coordinating driving and rest so the unit stays productive without either driver running outside their hours
• You will represent our client professionally at every customer location, maintain the condition and cleanliness of your assigned equipment, and report mechanical issues promptly so they are addressed before they become a breakdown

Requirements

• A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required, along with a minimum of 3 months of verifiable CDL-A driving experience
• You must meet all Department of Transportation qualification requirements and hold a current DOT medical certification
• An acceptable motor vehicle record and safety history are required
• You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with all federal testing requirements throughout your employment
• Drivers must live within 100 miles of Gilroy, CA or within 100 miles of Colton, CA
• Drivers based in Southern California need their own transportation to and from the Colton terminal

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior team driving experience is preferred
• Established teams are welcome to apply together, and drivers who have run team before understand the coordination that makes the miles work
• A clean safety record, consistent on-time performance, and a track record of steady tenure with previous carriers all strengthen an application
• Drivers who communicate well with dispatch, handle customer contact professionally, and take care of their equipment tend to do well on dedicated accounts like this one
