Job Title: Fleet Technician I
Location: Seattle, WA (Onsite)
Pay: $40.00$50.00 per hour (based on experience)
Sign-On Bonus: $7,500
Tool Allowance: $2,000 annually
Job Summary:
We are hiring experienced Fleet Technicians to perform complex diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a diverse fleet of vehicles. As a Level A Tech, you will play a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable, and road-ready vehicles through proactive maintenance, in-field repairs, and collaboration with techs and operations. This position offers flexible scheduling and industry-leading compensation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair transmissions, brakes, engines, and electrical systems
- Perform inspections on suspensions, steering, exhaust systems, and ensure optimal performance
- Complete vehicle diagnostics and testing; prepare scopes and work plans
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance, parts inventory, and labor hours
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns in the field and coordinate towing or on-site repairs
- Support technology management (Wi-Fi, telematics, tablets) in fleet vehicles
- Assign and oversee tasks for B and C level techs when necessary
- Collaborate with operations to minimize service interruptions
- Uphold fleet safety standards and ensure compliance with maintenance schedules
Must Haves / Requirements Summary:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience across various vehicle types
- HD ASE certified preferred
- Advanced understanding of HD electrical systems, air brakes, suspensions
- Skilled in diesel engine diagnostic software (Insight, Quickserve, WABCO, etc.)
- HVAC Certification & Power Train Certification preferred
- Valid WA State Drivers License (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- CDL with Passenger Endorsement is a plus (CDL training provided)
- Comfortable working in outdoor or inclement weather conditions
- Flexible schedule to support operational demands
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with transit buses or motor coaches
- Basic understanding of electric vehicle systems
- Comfortable leading and working with a large team
- Proficiency in MS Office and fleet telematics software
- Strong communication, documentation, and customer service skills
