Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical pharmacy services to critically ill neonates across the NICU daily
- Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary care teams to optimize pharmacotherapy plans
- Perform medication reconciliation, neonatal dosing calculations, and ongoing therapeutic monitoring
- Evaluate and implement evidence-based medication protocols specific to neonatal populations
- Identify and resolve drug therapy problems to improve patient safety and clinical outcomes
- Precept pharmacy students and PGY1/PGY2 residents rotating through the NICU
- Participate in quality improvement, formulary management, and regulatory compliance activities
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Completion of PGY2 residency in Pediatrics required; PGY2 in Critical Care with current NICU experience may be considered
- Active NICU clinical pharmacy experience
- Current Texas Pharmacy license in good standing
- Strong working knowledge of neonatal pharmacokinetics and evidence-based neonatal therapeutics
- Excellent clinical judgment and ability to perform in a high-acuity critical care environment
- No visa sponsorship available for this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a related field is preferred
