Position Overview
A large, integrated healthcare system is seeking a seasoned pharmacy leader to oversee inpatient pharmacy operations across a high-volume hospital environment. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in pharmacy administration, regulatory compliance, and team leadership within a complex, acute-care setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day inpatient pharmacy operations including staffing, workflow design, and resource allocation
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary pharmacy team across multiple departments
- Ensure compliance with state/federal pharmacy regulations, Joint Commission standards, and formulary management protocols
- Collaborate with medical staff, nursing leadership, and executive stakeholders to align pharmacy services with clinical goals
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, including drug spend optimization and contract negotiation
- Drive pharmacy automation, technology adoption, and process improvement initiatives
- Oversee 340B program compliance and controlled substance management programs
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited program
- Active pharmacist licensure in Washington State (or eligibility)
- 5+ years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience in an acute-care or health system setting
- Demonstrated experience managing large pharmacy teams and multi-million dollar drug budgets
- Strong knowledge of inpatient pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy services, and regulatory requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- BCPS or other board certification in a relevant specialty
- PGY2 residency in health-system pharmacy administration
- Experience with Epic or comparable pharmacy information systems
- Familiarity with 340B program management
