About the Organisation
India's Translational Research Initiative (ITRI) is a collaborative philanthropy initiative focused on strengthening the pathway from scientific discovery to real-world application by addressing gaps in India's lab-to-market ecosystem. It supports research institutions in building the infrastructure, capabilities, and partnerships needed to advance translational research and enable stronger industry linkages.
As part of this effort, ITRI is creating and augmenting Translational Research Centres (TRCs) within leading academic institutions to support technology advancement, prototyping, testing, and early deployment across high-impact areas such as life sciences and health, energy and sustainability, advanced materials, and engineering and computational technologies, including AI for science and next-generation manufacturing.

Qualifications
Essential
- 4–8 years of experience in an operations, coordination, or HR administration role — for example, operations associate, HR operations associate, process associate, or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Strong organisational ability and follow-through, with a demonstrated capacity to manage multiple workstreams and bring tasks to closure.
- Proficiency with checklists, trackers, and calendars, and in coordinating across multiple stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Clear written and verbal communication, with a proactive and dependable working style.
Desirable
- MBA (HR, Operations, or General Management), M.Com, or an equivalent master's degree.
- Experience in a non-profit, philanthropic, or research/consulting environment.
- Exposure to HR operations, vendor coordination, or working alongside external CA, CS, or legal partners (beneficial, though it can be developed on the job).
- Experience supporting senior leadership or managing executive calendars.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on coordination and operations role. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that activities are completed on time across people processes, day-to-day operations, leadership support, and coordination with external partners. Subject-matter expertise in any single area is not a prerequisite; the role calls for strong organisation, reliability, and ownership of follow-through. The organisation will provide the structure and processes; the candidate will be expected to deliver consistent execution.
Roles and Responsibilities
People processes and HR operations
- Administer established HR processes on a day-to-day basis such as leave records, trackers, and renewals in line with the policies and playbook already in place.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding, and maintain employee records, contracts, and documentation in an organised and updated state.
- Coordinate payroll and reimbursement inputs with the finance team, to ensure accurate and timely disbursement.
- Serve as the first point of contact for routine administrative queries.
Coordination for legal and compliance adherence
- Maintain the compliance calendar of statutory filings and compliances ITRI is required to adhere to
- Coordinate with external CA, CS, and legal partners to ensure that filings and statutory obligations are completed on schedule. The role is responsible for coordination and follow-up, and does not require undertaking filings directly
- Maintain an organised record of agreements and documentation including vendor agreements, MoUs, grant documents, and renewals and flag upcoming actions in advance.
- Act as the internal point of contact for tracking open items across partners, escalating to leadership where attention is required.
Leadership support and operations
- Manage calendars, scheduling, and travel arrangements for senior leadership, and support the smooth running of meetings
- Coordinate logistics for internal and external meetings.
- Support day-to-day operations, including vendor coordination, procurement, and office management.
- Support leadership in following through on priorities, meetings, and stakeholder communication.
