Job Title: Lead – Fundraising

ABOUT A-PAG

Air Pollution Action Group (A-PAG) was set up in 2019 by Ashish Dhawan (Founder and Chairperson, Ashoka University and Central Square Foundation), Vijay Chadda (previously CEO of Bharti Foundation) and Mohit Beotra (previously Chief Brand Officer of Airtel). A-PAG is a past member of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and adjoining regions.

A-PAG is focused on strategic implementation of solutions to combat air pollution and has created a niche for itself within the broader ecosystem in the last 2 years. A-PAG works with the Government on a pro-bono basis; we have made significant progress with programs at the National as well as State level. Some of our projects are as follows:

  • In Delhi, we are engaged with the Municipal Corporation on a massive program aimed at dispersed sources. This covers all ~250 wards across the city.

  • In Uttar Pradesh (UP) we have programs running in 11 cities across the state.

  • As part of our program with Bihar State Pollution Control Board (BSPCB), we are active in Patna, Muzaffarpur, Gayaji & Biharsharif.

  • In Haryana, we work in Gurgaon & Faridabad in partnership with the Municipal Corporation.

  • We have recently launched programs in AP and Odisha.

  • We have a PMU based at the Central Pollution Control Board, which is helping drive the effectiveness of the National Clean Air Program (NCAP).

We are currently 49 people strong with teams in 20 cities.

A-PAG is an FCRA registered organisation with the ability to receive both domestic and foreign funding. This enables us to work with a diverse set of partners and mobilise resources to scale high-impact programmes across India.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Lead - Fundraising will lead A-PAG's resource mobilization efforts by developing and executing fundraising strategies to secure sustainable funding from institutional, philanthropic, CSR, and individual donors. The role will build strategic partnerships, expand A-PAG's donor network, and work closely with the CEO and leadership team to enable the organization's long-term growth and impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Fundraising Strategy & Pipeline

  • Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with A-PAG's organisational priorities, financial goals, and funding needs.

  • Build and manage a diversified fundraising pipeline across CSR, philanthropic foundations, HNIs/UHNIs, international donors (FCRA), and other institutional sources, tracking targets and conversion.

2. Donor Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with prospective and existing donors through the full fundraising lifecycle.

  • Partner with the CEO on strategic donor engagements and progressively lead high-value fundraising conversations independently.

3. Proposal Development

  • Lead the development of compelling funding proposals, concept notes, grant applications, and pitch materials in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Translate program priorities into compelling donor-ready funding opportunities.

4. Donor Stewardship & Partnerships

  • Ensure high-quality and timely donor reporting, utilisation updates, impact communication, grant agreements, and other funding commitments.

  • Build long-term donor partnerships through effective stewardship, engagement, renewals and strategic collaboration.

5. Brand Building and Outreach

  • Strengthen A-PAG's visibility and positioning within CSR, philanthropic, and institutional funding communities.

  • Build and leverage a network of advisors, champions, and ecosystem partners to expand fundraising opportunities.

6. Collaboration and Internal Alignment

  • Work closely with the CEO, Strategic Communications, Program, Policy, and Finance teams to align fundraising priorities with organizational strategy.

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on fundraising performance, donor feedback, and pipeline health.

7. Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, including FCRA requirements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of proposals, grant agreements, donor communications, and reporting timelines.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Master's degree from a reputed institution in business, public policy, environmental studies, education, or a related field.

  • 6–8 years of experience in fundraising is mandatory, with a proven track record of securing funding, building strategic partnerships, and managing high-value donor relationships.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Strong interest and demonstrated experience in fundraising, with the ability to build and execute structured fundraising plans.

  • Exceptional communication, networking, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage UHNIs, CSR leaders, foundations, and senior stakeholders.

  • Entrepreneurial, persistent, and self-driven, with the ability to operate independently and follow through in a fast-paced environment.

  • Intellectually curious and articulate, with the ability to engage meaningfully with leaders across sectors.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple donor opportunities, proposals, and reporting requirements simultaneously.

  • Demonstrates A-PAG's values through ownership, collaboration, resilience, and bias for action.

POSITION

This is a full-time role based in Delhi, India, and involves extensive domestic travel.
