We are excited to announce the opening of a new high-end Japanese Fusion restaurant in the heart of London in early 2025. This new restaurant promises to deliver a unique culinary experience, blending traditional Japanese techniques with an innovative modern style. We are seeking a passionate and talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen team and bring their vision to life.

This business is already well established in the restaurant scene, with their other venues already listed in the Michelin guide, and needs a Head Chef at the helm who will continue to deliver the food offer at the high standards already set in a busy, 200 cover environment.

As a chef, you will have had experience working internationally and be looking to call London your home. Our client is able to sponsor a Skilled Worker Visa for the right individual.

The Role:

As the Head Chef, you will work closely with the owners and be the driving force behind our kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service. This could also be a fantastic opportunity for a very experienced Senior Sous Chef from a high-end background to take control of their first kitchen and make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee all aspects of the kitchen, including sushi and hot kitchen operations.
  • Develop and execute a creative and innovative menu that reflects our Japanese concept.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene, safety, and quality.
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and budget control to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff to maintain a high level of performance.
  • Collaborate with management on menu planning, seasonal offerings, and special events.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in high-end Japanese-style restaurants, with a strong focus on both sushi and hot kitchen on an international level.
  • Proven track record as a Senior Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end establishment.
  • A minimum of 5 years' management experience.
  • Experience with new openings highly desired.
  • Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for Japanese fusion.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities, with experience managing large teams.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • A keen eye for detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
