Head Pastry Chef - Asian & Japanese Cuisine | Location: Malta

We are seeking a highly skilled Pastry Chef with expertise in Asian and Japanese cuisine. This role is located at a luxury hotel property in Malta, overseeing pastry production for the hotel and 3-5 other restaurant locations across the island ranging from casual to fine dining restaurants and an all inclusive resort.

You will manage an intimate, highly skilled team of around five - seven Pastry Chefs, ensuring high standards of dessert creation and execution. Prior experience in production-style kitchens such as Central Production Units, cruise ships, or resort hotels, alongside some fine dining experience is highly desired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a variety of Asian-inspired pastries and desserts.
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across multiple dining outlets.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to create dessert menus that align with the overall Asian and Japanese cuisine
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Lead and mentor a team of five Pastry Chefs.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Pastry Chef with a focus on Asian or Japanese desserts.
• Experience in production-style kitchens (e.g., Central Production Units, cruise ships, resort hotels) as well as experience with high end restaurants
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Creative portfolio showcasing innovative pastry designs.
