This Group Executive Chef role is an exciting opportunity to shape the culinary vision for a well-established group of restaurants and events. You'll be responsible for upholding high standards across all kitchens, leading and mentoring teams to deliver memorable dining experiences that showcase the quality and innovation our clients brand is known for. The position calls for a chef with strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to culinary excellence, ensuring that every detail from ingredient sourcing to presentation meets the high expectations of Maltas dining scene.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the Global Culinary Director to establish and maintain high culinary standards, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency across all kitchens.
- Oversee food costs, monitor stock levels, and work with the purchasing team to source quality ingredients while keeping within budget requirements.
- Lead recruitment, training, and development for Head and Sous Chefs, building a motivated and high-performing kitchen team.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with local health regulations, uphold HACCP standards, and maintain company policies on food safety.
- Manage kitchen inventories to minimise waste, adjust for seasonal demands, and ensure consistent quality in ingredient sourcing.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high culinary standards, responding proactively to guest feedback, and continuously striving to improve.
- Oversee catering operations for events, coordinating logistics and ensuring high standards in menu execution and event support.
- Work closely with marketing to promote seasonal menus and new dishes, providing culinary insights to strengthen campaigns and guest engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior culinary leadership role within a multi-site hospitality environment.
- Strong financial skills with experience in cost control, inventory management, budgeting, and understanding P&L in culinary operations.
- Leadership and team development abilities, with a track record of training and motivating kitchen teams across different locations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with culinary and cross-functional teams.
- Formal chefs qualification, with additional certifications in food safety or HACCP beneficial.
