Description
Seeking a Technical Writer for a cloud solutions contract supporting Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The Technical Writer will create information, content, documentation, roadmaps, and diagrams to promote awareness, transparency, and marketing of the programs products and services. Technical Writers are embedded in the various product teams to understand the products and services and recommend how to communicate effectively with the community to ensure the customer experience is a success and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing, reviewing, revising, and maintaining technical documents, including products, tools, services, system operations, and user documentation.
- Writes and edits technical documentation for all products, including installation, configuration, how-to documentation, and presentations.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals, and technical publications.
- Understand basic concepts (including basic grammar concepts), responsible for writing technical copy for various documents.
- Maintain current internal documentation.
- Prepare and maintain operations documentation, cloud customer user guides and manuals, and technical publications, as well as coordinate the layout and design of documents.
- Produce quality documentation and training materials and follow the communication process.
- Prepare communications, documents, content, reports, etc., for audiences with varying understandings of the program and its products and services.
- Research technical and programmatic subject matters, organize information from multiple sources, consolidate technical details, and provide the information in a concise, user-friendly manner.
- Under general direction, write technical copy for various documents for a program/project of similar complexity.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in business, IT, or a related field and 2 years of experience.
- Strong communication and proofreading skills.
- Experience in research, analysis, and documentation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interviewing skills, including active listening and empathy.
- Experience in the IT industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of collaborative tools like Atlassian, Mural, and Slack.
- Strong customer interaction/service skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to speak in a public forum.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills; ability to interact effectively with others.
Desired
- Cloud (AWS and MAG) familiarity
- Experience with federal contracts and projects
- Experience with CMS
- Worked in SAFe Agile methodology
