Description


The Controller will be responsible for overseeing the financial health and operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes. This role includes managing monthly invoicing, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal audits while ensuring compliance with government contracting regulations. The Controller will play a key role in financial planning, analyzing costs and profits, and setting strategic financial goals. The ideal candidate has a strong background in government contracting, financial management, and accounting principles, with the ability to provide valuable insights and recommendations to support current company growth.

Responsibilities

  • Create and submit accurate monthly customer invoices by the 5th business day of each month.
  • Ensure timely payments for accounts payable and bank deposits.
  • Develop the company's annual budget and submit it for approval.
  • Monitor and analyze costs and profits, reporting monthly financial results.
  • Set and track financial KPIs to evaluate company performance
  • Generate regular financial reports and provide ad-hoc reports as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting and tax regulations specific to government contracting.
  • Perform internal audits and assist with external audits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial filing systems.
  • Ensure all financial data is properly recorded and stored for compliance and auditing purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned by executive staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial management, preferably in government contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of government regulations, FAR/DFARS compliance, and GAAP accounting principles.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with Deltek Costpoint.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights to executives.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities.
