Power BI Developer, Senior Level (8–12 YOE)

As a Senior Power BI Developer, you will lead the design, development, and optimisation of enterprise level Power BI solutions that enable data driven decision making. You will operate at both technical and strategic levels, translating complex business requirements into scalable data models, high performance dashboards, and actionable insights while shaping BI standards and mentoring team members.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

Enterprise BI Solution Design and Delivery

• Lead the design and development of complex Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable BI solutions.
• Own end to end delivery of reporting solutions from data sourcing through to visualisation.
• Ensure BI solutions align with enterprise data strategy and reporting objectives.

Advanced Data Modeling and Analytics

• Design and optimise enterprise grade data models.
• Develop complex calculations and logic using DAX.
• Ensure high performance data transformation using Power Query.
• Work with large and complex datasets across multiple systems.

Data Integration and Architecture Alignment

• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to define data pipelines and structures.
• Integrate Power BI with enterprise platforms including data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud systems.
• Ensure consistency with data architecture standards, governance, and security requirements.

Performance Optimisation and Governance

• Optimise report performance, data refresh strategies, and query execution.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the BI stack.
• Implement and enforce BI best practices, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance across reporting assets.

Stakeholder Engagement and Business Partnership

• Work directly with senior stakeholders to understand priorities and reporting needs.
• Translate complex data into meaningful insights and business recommendations.
• Present dashboards and insights to leadership teams.
• Act as a trusted advisor in data driven decision making.

Leadership and Mentorship

• Mentor and guide junior and mid level BI developers.
• Review deliverables to ensure quality and consistency.
• Drive continuous improvement in BI development processes and standards.
• Stay current with emerging BI tools and industry best practices.stry best practices.

We'd Love to Hear From You If

Experience

• You have eight to twelve (8-12) years of experience in Power BI development or business intelligence roles.
• You have delivered enterprise scale BI solutions in complex data environments.
• You hold a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data analytics, or a related field.

Technical Expertise

• Advanced proficiency in Power BI including data modelling, dashboards, and enterprise reporting.
• Expert level knowledge of DAX and Power Query.
• Strong experience with SQL and data extraction techniques.
• Deep understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and BI architecture.
• Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, data lakes, lakehouse, or modern data platforms is an advantage.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, compliance frameworks, ETL tools, and data engineering concepts is a plus.
