About the job Data Product Owner
As a Data Product Owner, you will lead the strategy, backlog, and delivery of a data consumption platform within the data office, ensuring it aligns with business goals, user needs, and long-term scalability. You will work across product ownership and business analysis, translating business requirements into prioritised features, refined user stories, and a clear roadmap that enables strong adoption and measurable delivery.
What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed
- Oversee the strategic development and operational management of the consumption layer product.
- Collect, manage, and prioritise the product backlog to support timely delivery of committed features.
- Collaborate with internal teams across analytics, DevOps, and source systems to align product goals with business needs.
- Develop and maintain a two-year product roadmap focused on business process architecture and user journey enablement.
- Track demand readiness and completion to ensure the platform can meet evolving business requirements.
- Monitor and report progress against key performance indicators, ensuring product milestones are achieved.
- Continuously improve the platform to enhance scalability and performance in line with business growth.
- Refine and detail business requirements from demand stories and user stories.
- Analyse detailed business requirements and user stories from proponents, and translate them into technical specifications for architects and engineers.
- Create initial Refined User Stories based on detailed business requirements and user stories from sponsors, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.

Technical Expertise
- You bring capability in agile practices, data architecture, cloud platforms, and business process management.
- Certification in PSPO, SAFe, or foundational data architecture and data engineering will be an advantage.
- You understand how to translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable refined user stories.
- You are comfortable working across product vision, roadmap planning, demand readiness, and backlog management.
