Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will lead advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives in the banking and payments domain, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights that drive strategic decision‑making. You will collaborate across business and technical teams, applying statistical expertise and programming skills to deliver predictive models and clear, compelling data stories.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

• Lead the development and deployment of machine learning models and statistical analyses to solve complex business problems.
• Apply advanced statistical techniques including Neural Networks, Gradient Boosting, Regression (Linear & Logistic), Decision Trees, Random Forests, Markov Chains, SVMs, Clustering, PCA, and Factor Analysis.
• Utilize tools such as SAS, Hadoop, R, SQL, Python, and Hive to analyse large datasets and optimise analytical processes.
• Develop predictive models, conduct experiments, and validate findings to guide business strategies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to communicate insights effectively, using clear visualisations and actionable recommendations.
• Lead data storyboarding and presentations, ensuring technical findings are accessible to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Experience

• You have 5+ years of hands‑on experience in data science or analytics, ideally in banking, payments, or related industries.

Technical Expertise

• You are proficient in SAS, Hadoop, R, SQL, Python, and Hive.
• You have deep knowledge of statistical modelling and machine learning techniques.
• You are skilled in creating compelling data visualisations and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint.
