Power BI Developer, Mid-Level (5–7 YOE)

As a Mid‑Level Power BI Developer, you will take ownership of end‑to‑end Power BI development, delivering scalable dashboards and reporting solutions that support business decision making. You will independently translate complex business requirements into robust data models, high performance reports, and actionable insights while contributing to improved data quality and BI maturity.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

End‑to‑End BI Development

• Design, develop, and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and reusable reporting solutions.
• Deliver complete reporting solutions from data ingestion through to visualisation.
• Ensure dashboards are intuitive, accurate, and aligned with business objectives.

Data Modeling and Advanced Analytics

• Design and optimise data models within Power BI.
• Develop complex calculations and measures using DAX.
• Perform advanced data transformation using Power Query.
• Ensure data consistency, integrity, and performance across all reports.

Data Integration and Collaboration

• Work closely with data engineers and database teams to source and structure data.
• Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources including databases, APIs, and cloud platforms.
• Align reporting solutions with enterprise data architecture and standards.

Performance Optimisation and Governance

• Optimise report performance, data refresh cycles, and query execution.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and implement improvements.
• Apply best practices in data governance, security, and access control.
• Ensure consistency and standardisation across dashboards and reports.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Engage with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and validate reporting requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions and meaningful insights.
• Present dashboards and insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted partner in data driven decision making.

Mentorship and Continuous Improvement

• Support and guide junior Power BI developers.
• Contribute to improving BI standards, processes, and frameworks.
• Stay current with Power BI features and industry best practices.

We'd Love to Hear From You If

Experience

• You have five to seven (5-7) years of experience in Power BI development or business intelligence roles.
• You have delivered end‑to‑end reporting solutions in enterprise environments.
• You hold a bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, data analytics, or a related field.

Technical Expertise

• Strong proficiency in Power BI including advanced reporting, dashboards, and data modelling.
• Advanced knowledge of DAX and Power Query.
• Strong experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Solid understanding of data modelling and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience working with multiple data sources and large datasets.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, data lakes, or warehouse architectures is an advantage.
• Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance practices is a plus.
