Job Description: Software Test Engineer – Telecom OSS/BSS (Functional + Automation + GenAI)
Reports To: QA Manager / Engineering Lead
About the Role
We are hiring a skilled Software Test Engineer with strong capabilities in functional testing, automation, integration/E2E testing, and an interest in leveraging GenAI and RPA to accelerate QA delivery.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Telecom OSS/BSS experience, strong testing fundamentals, and the ability to contribute effectively in Agile/Scrum environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze business/technical requirements to design comprehensive, high‑quality test cases.
- Perform Functional Testing, Integration Testing, and End‑to‑End (E2E) Testing across telecom OSS/BSS platforms.
- Conduct testing within Agile/Scrum delivery teams with active participation in ceremonies.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Selenium with Java or equivalent tools.
- Create small automation/RPA utilities using UiPath or equivalent RPA platforms.
- Execute manual and automated tests; identify, document, and track defects.
- Conduct API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent tools.
- Validate cross-system flows (ordering, billing, CRM, provisioning, network activation).
- Collaborate with developers, architects, product owners, and operations teams across the SDLC.
- Use GenAI tools for test case generation, documentation, data creation, and defect triage.
- Support Business User Testing (BUT/UAT) and third‑party integration activities.
- Ensure test coverage, traceability, reporting, and adherence to QA standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of software testing experience in Telecom OSS/BSS.
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- Functional Testing
- Integration Testing
- End‑to‑End (E2E) Testing
- Scrum/Agile Testing
- Practical automation experience using Selenium + Java or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency in API Testing (Postman, REST Assured).
- MUST‑HAVE experience with Test Management Tools:
- HP ALM / Micro Focus ALM
- Micro Focus Octane
- JIRA / Zephyr / qTest
- Solid understanding of telecom workflows (order capture, billing, orchestration, activation).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Jenkins, Git).
- Ability to write SQL queries and perform backend validations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with UiPath or other RPA tools (Automation Anywhere, BluePrism).
- Exposure to TOSCA, SAP Test Suite, or enterprise automation platforms.
- Experience using GenAI for QA acceleration.
- Knowledge of microservices, SOAP/REST integrations, message queues.
- Exposure to enterprise CRM or network management systems.
- ISTQB, TOSCA, UiPath, or other QA certifications.
