About the job Reinsurance Manager Non-Proportional Treaty
Job Purpose
To manage and oversee all aspects of non-proportional reinsurance treaty programs to ensure adequate risk protection, optimize reinsurance costs, and comply with regulatory and company requirements. This role involves strategic planning, negotiation, placement, and administration of reinsurance arrangements to support the companys underwriting and risk management objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Design, structure, and negotiate non-proportional reinsurance treaties (Excess of Loss, Catastrophe, Stop Loss, etc.) to ensure effective protection against large losses.

Analyze portfolio exposure, underwriting performance, and capital requirements to determine appropriate reinsurance strategies.

Coordinate with actuarial, underwriting, and finance teams to assess reinsurance needs and pricing impacts.

Manage relationships and negotiations with local and international reinsurers, brokers, and regulatory bodies.

Monitor treaty performance, claims recoveries, and settlement processes to ensure timely collection and accuracy.

Review and analyze reinsurance wordings and contract terms to ensure alignment with company objectives and risk appetite.

Prepare reports, documentation, and analysis for management review and regulatory submission (e.g., OIC reporting).

Support annual renewal processes, budgeting, and reinsurance audits.

Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry practices in reinsurance and risk transfer.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Insurance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Finance, or related fields.

Minimum 710 years of experience in reinsurance (with strong exposure to non-proportional treaty programs).

In-depth understanding of reinsurance principles, structures, and contract wordings.

Strong analytical and negotiation skills with attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills in both Thai and English (spoken and written).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with reinsurance or actuarial systems is an advantage.
