Overview
HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking a dynamic ICU Manager to oversee daily operations and nursing practice within our Critical Care Department (42 beds across ICU/CVICU towers). This leadership role ensures high-quality, patient-centered care, staff accountability, and operational efficiency, while supporting the hospitals mission and values.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, staffing, and workflow of ICU units.

Implement evidence-based practices to improve patient safety and outcomes.

Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, regulatory standards, and quality benchmarks.

Manage admissions, discharges, and throughput efficiently.

Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient care.

Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development for nursing staff.

Monitor unit finances, supply usage, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Support employee engagement and foster a culture of accountability and transparency.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Recent (within 1 year) Acute Care leadership experience in Critical Care as a Charge RN, Supervisor, or Manager:
-
Charge RN: 5+ years experience
-
Manager: 2+ years experience
-
Supervisor: 3+ years experience
-

Florida RN license
-
BLS and ACLS certifications upon hire
-
Experience with ICU patient populations including neuro, surgical, trauma, and respiratory care
Preferred:

BSN degree (ADN acceptable if currently enrolled in BSN program)

Strong leadership and operational management skills

Hospital: 336 licensed beds, Level II Trauma Center, 2 freestanding ERs
