ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are partnering with a 240-bed acute care facility in Portsmouth, New Hampshire — the only hospital in the Seacoast region designated as both an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and a Comprehensive Stroke Center — to place an experienced OR Nurse Manager in their Surgical Services department. This facility serves communities across New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts and operates a robust heart and vascular program alongside its full surgical platform.

This is a day-shift, no-weekend leadership role reporting to the Surgical Services Director, with operational ownership of an 11-room OR suite and a team of 45 FTEs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Oversee day-to-day OR operations including scheduling, patient rounding, and satisfaction metrics

- Supervise and develop Clinical Coordinators, supporting their growth and departmental performance

- Interview, hire, and onboard OR staff; conduct annual performance evaluations and implement learning plans

- Manage employee relations including counseling, disciplinary processes, and terminations when indicated

- Collaborate with the Surgical Services Director on unit budget management and fiscal accountability

- Support admission and discharge coordination alongside Clinical Coordinators

- Maintain clinical competency and assist the educator with competency development initiatives

- Lead compliance with regulatory, national nursing, and specialty nursing standards

- Evaluate and report patient outcomes; champion a culture of safe, high-quality surgical care

- Build and maintain strong physician relations and interdisciplinary partnerships across the hospital

REQUIREMENTS

- Active New Hampshire RN license — required

- Minimum 1–3 years of RN experience in an operating room setting — required

- Bachelor's degree (BSN or related 4-year degree) — preferred

- Strong OR Charge RNs with demonstrated leadership experience will be considered

COMPENSATION

Hourly rate: $47.30 – $65.20 (based on years of experience)

- Entry: $47.30/hr

- Mid: $56.31/hr

- Senior: $65.20/hr

Schedule: Days only — no weekend requirement
