Sign-On Bonus: $10K Days / $15K Nights | Relocation: Case by Case | Fee: 20% of annual salary

Overview

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital serving Bay County and surrounding communities. The hospital provides comprehensive care including advanced cardiac assessment, adult and pediatric emergency services, orthopedic care, joint replacement, robotic surgery, and vascular/interventional services. It is the only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation in the region and has the only Level III NICU and Pediatric ICU.

The PCU RN (IMCU) role focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a progressive care/IMCU setting, coordinating pre- and post-operative care and advocating for patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition on admission and each shift; identify and report changes in status

  • Administer prescribed medications and monitor patient response

  • Perform procedures as ordered by providers and document care thoroughly

  • Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used for cardiac and medical-surgical patients

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and outcomes

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1 year recent acute care PCU experience (within the last year)

    • Consider ER RN or 3 years acute Med-Surg if experience is recent

  • Florida RN license or compact licensure (FL RN compact license required within 60 days if held in another state)

  • RN Diploma or Associate Degree

  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire

  • ACLS certification within 60 days of hire

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking, adaptability, teamwork, and communication

  • Ability to maintain safe patient ratios (max 1:5, targeted 1:4)

Unit Details

  • 24 beds in the Progressive Care/IMCU unit

  • 7 FTEs on staff

  • Rotating day and night shifts

  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 max (aim for 1:4)

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $27.72-$36.30 (510 years) / $39.60 (15+ years)

  • Shift Differential: $4/night

  • Sign-On Bonus: $10K Days / $15K Nights
