We are seeking an experienced Tooling Engineer to join our aerospace team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling solutions that support the manufacturing and assembly of aerospace components. This role plays a critical part in ensuring high-quality production and meeting industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development:
- Develop detailed designs for tools, jigs, fixtures, and dies to support manufacturing processes.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) to create tooling designs and technical drawings.
- Production Support:
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure tooling meets production requirements.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions.
- Process Improvement:
- Conduct root cause analysis to improve tooling performance and longevity.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements in tooling and production processes.
- CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine):
- Interpret and read CMM reports to validate tooling dimensions and ensure quality compliance.
- Use CMM data to make necessary adjustments to tooling designs.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure all tooling complies with aerospace industry standards and specifications.
- Maintain proper documentation for tooling designs and modifications.
- Vendor Management:
- Liaise with vendors and suppliers to procure and validate tooling components.
- Oversee the manufacturing and delivery of tooling from external partners.
