Summary:

Acts in an engineering and construction management capacity, under the supervision of the Project Manager, for all activities of assigned projects within clearly established policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Expand knowledge and understanding of assigned project folders, field packages, cost control, estimating, and cost management systems.
  • Interpret project documents, including contracts, plans, specifications, and change orders, to provide timely and accurate cost estimates.
  • Perform quantity take-off surveys using on-screen takeoff as required.
  • Broaden technical knowledge across all product lines (drywall, masonry, concrete and masonry restoration, building envelope, waterproofing).
  • Prepare change order cost and pricing for approval within policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with field personnel and vendors regarding stocking plans.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to active projects to broaden field methods and system knowledge.
  • Apply technical knowledge to prepare a control estimate for review and approval using current estimating tools and systems.
  • Order, track, and administer materials within established policies.
  • Communicate regularly with field personnel to monitor, analyze, and track schedules, production, and other job-related issues. Assist with field reports, projections, and month-end reporting.
  • Manage accounting tasks, including invoice, requisition, and payroll approvals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and represent the company at external meetings related to projects.
  • Actively participate in client marketing activities.
  • Gain experience and management skills to train and manage project engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture, finance, or accounting preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to make sound judgments and grow within the company.
  • Must have a vehicle, valid drivers license, and active insurance.
  • Successful completion of the company training program.
  • Qualified project engineer with approximately 3 years of commercial drywall construction experience.
  • Must pass a criminal background check and sign a Confidentiality, Non-Disclosure, and Non-Solicitation Agreement (this is NOT a non-compete).
