HSE Specialist / Consultant

Summary:
Under the direction of management, this position is responsible for developing, coordinating, training, auditing and providing professional consultation and technical expertise associated with environmental, health and occupational safety matters for Controlworx International KZ LLP. This position works with internal and external customers to provide a safe environment and to ensure compliance with all rules and regulations.
Education:
- High School (Minimum or Equivalent)
- OSHA 30 Certification Required Prior to Hire
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Ergonomics, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or Safety-related discipline AND/OR any HSE-related certifications preferred
Minimum Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial HSE role, preferably with a manufacturing facility, petrochemical facility, industrial service provider, industrial contractor or similar
- Extensive knowledge of General Industry HSE programs
- Solid understanding of regulatory agency standards and regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA, DEQ, BSSE, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience providing safety supervision or HSE auditing in the field is a plus
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- This job is demanding in terms of knowledge, skills, commitment, and all other job-related qualifications. Urgency and pressure for prompt, accurate results are routine. It requires the handling of multiple tasks with many unexpected interruptions. The job calls for the responsiveness and energy to work long hours and cover a wide scope without letting up on the pace. While training in certain, specific equipment is offered, the successful candidate must be diligent in learning on their own from time to time.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with company, client, OSHA, and other applicable standards at all company facilities by working with facility management and conducting periodic safety audits.
- Assumes responsibility for monitoring company and facility specific safety programs, plans, and inspections and assists the Safety Department in developing and maintaining necessary Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Responsible for managing facility incident investigations and case management, as well as assisting the Safety Department in any customer or third-party incident investigations and case management.
- Able to work collaboratively with staff to complete various Safety Department duties, projects, and initiatives.
- Able to assist the Safety Department in any customer or third-party HSE-related audits, training, programs, meetings, etc.
- Responsible for driving an exceptional safety culture by encouraging and demonstrating safe behaviors.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment with little supervision.
- Available to work overtime and answer after-hours emergency phone calls.

Computer Skills
- Become and remain proficient in all programs necessary to perform the everyday duties of this position.
- Proficiency in MS Office Products is required especially OUTLOOK, EXCEL, and WORD
- Proficiency in typing
- SmartSheet experience is a plus
