Position Overview:

Our client, a well-regarded family law firm, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Family Law Associate Attorney to support case management and provide comprehensive legal services to clients. This role offers a dynamic growth opportunity within a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support lead attorneys in effectively managing family law cases from initiation through resolution.
  • Draft and review key legal documents, including letters, pleadings, financial disclosures, mediation briefs, and trial briefs.
  • Conduct discovery activities, including propounding and responding to discovery requests, drafting meet-and-confer letters, and preparing motions to compel.
  • Prepare deposition outlines and exhibits, and participate in both defending and taking depositions.
  • Develop witness questions for evidentiary hearings and trial.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft well-reasoned memorandums.
  • Represent clients in ex parte hearings, Requests for Orders (RFO) hearings, and other proceedings as needed.
  • Engage in consistent client communication to update on case progress and address client concerns.
  • Track billable hours and meet established billing targets.

Qualifications:

  • Active membership and good standing with the California Bar.
  • 3-5 years of family law experience, demonstrating strong case-handling capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, motivated, and committed to meeting deadlines with a team-oriented attitude.
  • Hybrid work arrangement: three days in-office and two days remote.
  • Ability to commute to the firms downtown San Diego office as needed.
