Job Overview: Our team is looking for a skilled Civil Engineer specializing in water and wastewater systems to lead and support municipal and land development projects. This position involves technical design work, project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to bring critical infrastructure projects to fruition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Computations: Perform moderately complex engineering calculations independently, following conventional engineering practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Design Documentation: Prepare detailed engineering and design documents using computer-assisted design software and equipment.
- Technical Writing: Develop technical specifications, reports, and other project-related documents tailored to diverse audiences.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with government agencies, clients, and other professionals to gather design data and secure project approvals.
- Project Discretion and Judgment: Apply discretion and sound judgment in all engineering tasks, ensuring high standards and effective problem-solving.
- Company Standards and Best Practices: Learn and implement company standards and best practices for engineering, design, and project management.
- Project Oversight: Lead and manage tasks, projects, and client expectations, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget goals.
- Construction Management: Oversee the preparation of construction documents and specifications, as well as construction oversight and administration to ensure projects meet quality and compliance standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal water and wastewater engineering.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Montana, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
- Preferred Experience: Knowledge of rural water and wastewater systems is highly desirable.
- Team and Independent Work: Able to work effectively independently as well as part of a collaborative team, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance.
- Professional Skills: Strong work ethic with a comprehensive understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Drivers License: Must hold a valid drivers license with a good driving record.

- Surface water management and well systems
- Water distribution networks, including pipelines and sewer collection systems
- Project planning and development for potable water
- Water and sewer rehabilitation
- Transmission lines and lift stations
- Support as an on-call engineer for the eastern half of the state
