Software Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

TEKHQS is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our DriverBook (ELD + TMS) team. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in manual testing, with strong expertise in API, mobile application, and database testing.
You will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of our fleet management and ELD platform, including driver logs, Hours of Service (HOS) calculations, vehicle tracking, and real-time data synchronization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute manual test cases for ELD workflows, TMS modules, mobile applications, APIs, and database systems to ensure functionality, performance, and security.
• Conduct thorough API testing using tools like Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or similar.
• Validate API request and response structures, verify error handling, and test authentication and authorization scenarios.
• Perform database testing to verify data integrity, execute SQL queries, and validate stored procedures.
• Test mobile applications on Android and iOS, including offline scenarios and automatic synchronization when connectivity is restored.
• Validate ELD compliance features, including Hours of Service (HOS) calculations, log edits, annotations, and audit trails.
• Verify vehicle tracking features, including live tracking updates, historical data accuracy, timestamps, and timezone handling.
• Identify, report, and track defects using tools like JIRA, and collaborate closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, to ensure quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensure overall product quality in terms of functionality, performance, data accuracy, and security.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience as a Manual QA Engineer.
• Strong experience in API testing using Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience in database testing, including writing SQL queries and validating stored procedures.
• Experience testing mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms.
• Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Proficiency in SQL, including joins, subqueries, and data validation techniques.
• Experience in writing and executing test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
• Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as JIRA or similar.
• Basic understanding of Git is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with ELD systems, fleet management, or logistics platforms.
• Understanding of real-time systems, GPS tracking, and location-based data validation.
• Experience testing offline-first mobile applications.
• Basic knowledge of test automation for future career growth.
