Senior SQA Engineer – ERP Finance (Accounts Payable Module)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior SQA Engineer specializing in ERP Finance modules, with a core focus on Accounts Payable (AP). In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, financial accuracy, and seamless integration of our enterprise-level AP system.
The ideal candidate bridges the gap between technical software testing and financial accounting workflows. You will design comprehensive test cases, execute end-to-end regression cycles, and validate transactional workflows to prevent data leaks and ensure absolute financial compliance.

Key Responsibilities
Functional & Domain-Specific Testing

• Invoice Processing & Three-Way Match: Validate end-to-end workflows for PO (Purchase Order), Goods Receipt Note (GRN), and Supplier Invoice reconciliation.
• Payment Cycle Testing: Verify payment runs, electronic fund transfers (EFT), bank reconciliations, and multi-currency payment processing.
• Vendor Management Lifecycle: Test vendor onboarding workflows, tax configurations (VAT/WHT/GST), withholding tax deductions, and vendor credit memo processing.
• Accounting/GL Ledger Integrity: Audit double-entry accounting impacts. Verify that AP transactions correctly debit/credit corresponding General Ledger (GL) accounts and sub-ledgers.

Test Execution & Documentation

• Design, maintain, and execute highly detailed test plans and multi-scenario test cases for core Accounts Payable features.
• Perform rigorous regression testing during software patch updates, version upgrades, and custom feature deployments.
• Identify, document, and track software bugs with clear technical and financial context using tools like JIRA.

Data Validation & Reporting

• Validate financial aging reports, vendor ledgers, tax compliance summaries, and operational AP dashboards for absolute mathematical accuracy.
• Conduct data integrity checks on historical AP data migrations and backend transactional interfaces.

Key Requirements & Qualifications
Technical Experience

• Experience: 5+ years of dedicated software testing experience, with a proven track record of testing Accounts Payable (AP) / Payable modules within any standard or custom ERP system.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of core Accounts Payable processes (accruals, ledger postings, multi-currency conversions, and billing cycles).
• Database Skills: Intermediate SQL skills to perform backend database verification and audit financial log entries.

Tools & Methodologies

• Experience with test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA, TestRail, or Azure DevOps.
• Familiarity with API testing tools (like Postman) for verifying third-party banking or procurement integrations.

Nice to Have (Good to Have)

• Direct hands-on testing experience with tier-1 enterprise ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Odoo.

Soft Skills

• Exceptionally sharp analytical mindset with a hyper-focus on data accuracy (catching financial rounding errors or math discrepancies).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively translate complex workflow issues to development teams.
