Summary of Duties & Responsibilities

Were seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to be part of our dynamic team, this role is crucial for supporting the design, development, and execution of Industrial Control Panels and Control Systems, specifically for Fuel Management Applications. The Senior Controls Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and be a key technical resource across various phases of product development.

Essential Functions

Design and Development:

  • Lead electrical and controls design for new standard products, product revisions, and custom solutions tailored to customer specifications.
  • Be the main contact for reviews related to Electrical Design, UL-508A, and NFPA 70 compliance.
  • Program PLCs for OEM equipment.
  • Develop and execute test methods for hardware and software solutions.
  • Prepare load calculations, select control panel equipment, and create layouts.

Technical Documentation and Support:

  • Assist production with training and creating production drawings using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Manage CAD packages, drawings, diagrams, and Bills of Materials.
  • Produce system manuals, installation instructions, and sequence of operations documentation.
  • Provide technical support to Project Management, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Sales teams.

Process Improvement:

  • Propose new ideas to enhance product value through cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing work environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong experience in product engineering.
  • Expertise in AutoCAD Electrical and UL-508A Standards.
  • Knowledge in ladder logic and function block PLC programming.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to report project progress.
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing feasibility and DFM principles.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently.

Must to have:

  • In-depth knowledge of UL-508A standards and experience in designing industrial control panels in compliance with these regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of UL-508a Standard.
  • Experience with PLCs such as:
  • Rockwell and Siemens
  • Unitronics and Wago

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (7+ years of experience) OR 15+ years of relevant experience.
