Job Purpose
To ensure compliance with environmental regulations and our client's  standards across cement manufacturing processes. This role involves monitoring, reporting, environmental planning, stakeholder engagement, and promoting environmental best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment
  • Lead environmental health and safety initiatives across the plant.
  • Act as a safety role model; ensure compliance with all our client's  safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with safety teams and contractors to uphold a safe working environment.
Legal Compliance
  • Monitor and report environmental parameters: NO, SO, Dust emissions, etc.
  • Ensure timely renewal of environmental licenses and permits.
  • Oversee internal and external environmental measurements.
  • Conduct audits and issue non-compliance reports with corrective actions.
  • Implement and monitor waste management programs.
Environmental Management
  • Develop and implement Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Lead environmental impact assessments and coordinate public consultations.
  • Conduct staff training on environmental responsibilities.
  • Ensure the organization complies with environmental legislation and standards.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
  • Maintain strong relationships with the Ministry of Environment, Fujairah Municipality, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Support local CSR initiatives and represent the plant in environmental matters.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports to authorities.
Housekeeping & Site Management
  • Conduct annual housekeeping assessments and implement improvement plans.
  • Monitor PM10 and noise levels at plant boundaries.
Sustainability & Process Optimization
  • Drive the implementation of our client's Plant Operating Model (POM).
  • Identify and resolve operational environmental challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.Sc. or Diploma in Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.
Experience
  • 6-8 years of experience in a continuous process industry (preferably cement).
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of UAE/local environmental regulations and global standards.
  • Proficient in environmental measurement techniques and pollution control.
  • Expertise in fuel and raw material environmental impact assessments.
Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication (oral & written) in English and Arabic.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
Decision-Making Authority
  • Advise and escalate legal or compliance risks to the Operations Director.
  • Authorized to communicate with regulatory bodies with prior approval.

Internal:
  • Production, Maintenance, and Safety teams.
External:
  • Local and national environmental regulatory bodies.
  • IPMEA for environmental standards and updates.
Budget & Procurement
  • PR approval authority as directed by the Operations Director.
