Mechanical Development Engineer (Tumbleweed Microgravity, paid position)

About the Job:
As a Mechanical Development engineer, you will be responsible for the mechanical design of our spacecraft and payload systems, as well as prototyping and end-end testing of all spacecraft and payload structures, certifying them for launch. Your role will also include the design and manufacturing of testing equipment, and integration of instrumentation on the test articles.

These are our Non-Negotiables:

• Being ambitious, kind and ready to learn.

• Experience in designing and integrating spacecraft hardware.

• Expertise in testing instrumentation for static and dynamic load testing.

• Working proactively and reliably in a dynamic environment.

• Readiness to take ownership, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

These are important, but not 100% necessary:

• Experience in CNC machining and assembly of electronics

• Portfolio in DIY projects related to mechatronics and mechanics.

Responsibilities:

• Designing, manufacturing/procurement and certification of payload and spacecraft structural components.
