Who we are :
Here at Team Tumbleweed, we are working on cutting-edge technology to make Mars exploration 100 times cheaper than current existing missions. We are a driven team, who get things done and have a great time paving the road to Mars.
What you will do:
You will join us as a prototyping intern in our lab in Delft, the Netherlands, where we rapidly iterate the design of our landing system. As a prototyping intern, you will play a critical role in the development, integration, and optimisation of the Tumbleweed Rover’s systems, by assembling, testing, analyzing the test results, and rapidly iterating prototype designs of our rover’s radically novel unfolding and deployment systems.
You will be integrated into the Engineering department and work closely with our Structural & Mechatronics engineers and our Lead Mechanical Engineer. You will also interface with all parts of the engineering team, getting experience across a wide array of engineering fields.
What we are looking for:.
You are a student in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program and you are passionate about space.
You have an engineering background (electrical, aerospace, mechanical, or other relevant engineering degree).
You have built something before.
It is a plus if you already have experience with CAD design and modeling programs (3DExperience, Solidworks, Catia...).
What skills you will develop:
You will learn about engineering prototyping and testing.
You will learn about the design of a product and you will be able to develop your skills with CAD programs.
You will operate a 3D printer regularly and develop your design and printing skills.
You will learn to work in a team and develop your communication skills.
