Social Media Manager Volunteer Position

Location - remote / NL

About the Position: As a Social Media Manager at Team Tumbleweed, you get to be the voice of our startup and make sure the world walks alongside us on our #roadtoMars.

The position is highly remote, setting no limits to your creativity, but the aerospace industry moves fast, and so do we. This role requires real-time engagement, flexibility, and the passion and commitment for staying connected with our audience on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Develop our social media strategy, aligned with the Communications team and business goals;

• Work with design and web to create and share engaging content;

• Manage all our social media accounts;

• Share posts on a daily basis about our team, our work, and our vision, aligned with each network’s target audience;

• Help build our community by responding to comments, messages and mentions;

• Help plan and execute social media campaigns to promote our work and initiatives;

• Monitor social media metrics and report on performance, adjusting our strategies to constantly improve our reach;

• Research, recommend, and implement tools and processes to improve our social media operations;

• Collaborate with Engineering, Science and other teams to ensure their work is promoted;

• Keep track of ongoing work and communicate frequently with the team to ensure transparency and alignment.

Requirements

• Passion for space and science communication

• Strong understanding of social media platforms

• Strong communication and intercultural skills

• Excellent written & spoken English

• Willingness for continuous learning and personal development

• Resourcefulness, flexibility, and creativity

• Availability to work daily and meet a few times per week

• Previous social media management experience is a plus

• Familiarity with social media management, project management, and content creation tools is a plus

• Previous experience in the aerospace industry is a plus
