Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Controller with deep IFRS expertise to lead financial reporting, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic decision-making within a fast-paced technology environment.

This role requires a hands-on finance leader who can take full ownership of the accounting function, oversee reporting integrity, strengthen internal controls, and partner closely with leadership to drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in full compliance with IFRS

  • Own and oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness

  • Manage and review all general ledger activities, including complex journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reconciliations

  • Interpret and apply IFRS standards (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, consolidation) to business transactions, particularly within software and project-based contracts

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, leading audit processes and ensuring timely resolution of audit matters

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing financial insights and recommendations to senior management

  • Review and manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and capitalization of development costs in accordance with IFRS

  • Establish, strengthen, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation standards

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to accounting team members

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project teams, and leadership to support business growth and financial strategy

  • Drive accounting process improvements and support ERP or system enhancement initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent strongly preferred

  • 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior-level responsibility

  • Strong, hands-on knowledge of IFRS with proven experience applying standards in real-world scenarios

  • Prior experience in a technology, software, IT services, or project-based environment is highly desirable

  • Proven experience leading audits and working directly with external auditors

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems

  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with multi-entity or multi-currency reporting

  • Exposure to revenue recognition for long-term contracts or software solutions

  • Ability to explain complex accounting matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders

  • High attention to detail with the confidence to challenge assumptions when needed
