About the Role:

The Junior Portfolio Manager will assist Investment Managers in monitoring and controlling the client's global portfolio of approximately 60 custom debt investments across multiple investment funds. The Junior Portfolio Manager role is evolving and will be tasked with assisting the Portfolio Manager and Investment Associates in establishing robust management processes and processing monthly reporting received from portfolio companies.

Specific activities will include:

  • Managing data received from portfolio companies each month (currently 60 companies in the portfolio and expected to grow by 10 to 20 companies per year)

  • Assisting the preparation of monthly portfolio reports on each portfolio company

  • Performing reconciliation of management balance sheets back to source data each month

  • Performing the review and reconciliation of loan tape data back to the loan agreement each month for specific portfolio companies

  • Prepare initial diligence reports on new opportunities

  • Monitor news flow on existing portfolio companies on a rolling basis

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly loan schedule reconciliation.

  • Perform special projects, such as testing of system enhancements and implementation of process improvements.

  • Correspond with Investment Leads regarding portfolio management issues and preparation of reporting on new deal opportunities

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Experience and expertise:

  • 4 to 7 years professional accounting or portfolio management experience

  • Knowledge of management accounting reporting and analysis concepts

  • Experience preparing management accounts and reconciliations

  • Ability to establish appropriate priorities, work on multiple projects concurrently and meet inflexible deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Highly organized

  • Highly proficient using Excel, Word, and other Microsoft office programs

  • Moderately proficient using various accounting software, including Xero, MYOB and Quickbooks

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is required

Working Conditions:

  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid

  • Work Schedule: Adhere to Austrualian Time Zone, must be amenable to shifting.
