About the Role
As our Senior Accountant, you will report to the CFO and oversee our bookkeeping function, ensuring accurate financial reporting across multiple entities. You will be responsible for month-end close processes, intercompany reconciliations, and maintaining clean and compliant financial records.
This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive finance professional with experience in multi-national companies, intercompany transactions, and financial best practices. You will supervise bookkeepers, conduct quality control checks, and ensure our accounts remain accurate and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accuracy & Compliance
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial records across multiple global entities.
- Review and reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure proper allocation and documentation.
- Maintain clean books, ensuring all transactions are properly classified and recorded.
- Assist in local compliance and regulatory filings for various regions (Australia, Canada, UK).
Month-End Close & Reconciliations
- Lead month-end closing processes, ensuring all accounts are reconciled and financial reports are prepared on time.
- Conduct bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies and anomalies before final reporting.
Bookkeeping Oversight & Supervision
- Supervise and support junior bookkeepers to ensure data accuracy and efficient financial processing.
- Provide guidance, training, and reviews to maintain high accounting standards.
Process Improvement & Reporting
- Identify gaps in financial processes and suggest efficiencies for better reporting and compliance.
- Work closely with the CFO to provide insights and reports for strategic decision-making.
- Assist in implementing financial controls and best practices.
What Were Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-national organisation.
- Expertise in intercompany transactions, intercompany reconciliations and consolidations.
- Experience with multicurrency transactions and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and financial reporting.
- Experience managing or supervising bookkeepers or junior accountants.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
- High attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting.
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
