Position Summary
Seeking a detail-oriented Medical Billing Data Entry Specialist with 2–3 years of hands-on experience in medical billing processes, insurance claim processing, and healthcare billing software. This role is critical in ensuring accurate data entry, timely claim submissions, and effective revenue cycle optimization.
Key Responsibilities

Enter patient demographic and insurance information into billing systems with high accuracy

Process insurance claims through payer portals and clearinghouses

Review and verify medical coding (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) for accuracy and completeness

Follow up on denied, rejected, or pending insurance claims

Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts

Generate and review aging reports and identify collection opportunities

Communicate with insurance companies via phone and online portals to resolve claim issues

Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and data security protocols

Assist with patient billing inquiries and payment posting

Support month-end reporting and reconciliation processes
Required Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years experience in medical billing or healthcare data entry

Proficiency with medical billing software (Claimtek preferred; Cerner, NextGen, or similar EMR/PM systems acceptable)

Experience working with major U.S. insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)

Strong knowledge of medical terminology and billing procedures

Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding systems

Experience with insurance claim submission and follow-up

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality control
