 Job Description:

My client has an opportunity for an Lifting Manager to work for a major project in Plymouth area. This is a chance for an individual to join a progressive company.

Lifting Manager Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for all aspects of the management of all lifting operations.
  • Develop and implement company procedures covering all aspects of lifting operations.
  • Develop comprehensive lifting plans and method statements in accordance with BS 7121 standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, and crane operators to ensure smooth execution of lifting operations.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team, always ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and relevant authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Liaising with Clients to ensure lifting operations are adequately planned accounting for and considering Client specific environmental factors.

Lifting Manager Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Lifting Manager or Senior Appointed Person in the civils industry
  • In-depth knowledge of crane operations, rigging techniques, and lifting regulations.
  • Proficiency in developing lifting plans and method statements including AUTO CAD
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of lifting operations
  • Proven experience in planning and executing basic, standard, and complex lifting operations
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Appointed Person for Lifting Operations A61 (CPCS Blue Card)
  • CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) or equivalent
  • CPCS Slinger/Signaler or Crane Supervisor (preferable).
  • NEBOSH Construction / General Certificate
  • Degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or a related field is preferred.
