Position Details
- Salary: Competitive, based on experience
- Experience: 4+ years of U.S. tax experience
- Training: In-depth training and career development opportunities
- Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday) or part-time options available
- Location: Thousand Oaks, CA (close to a freeway exit); potential for hybrid or remote work after the first tax season and with relevant security measures.
- Start Date: Mid-January 2025
Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Production Manager/Team Leader, you will oversee the compliance department (tax and accounting) with a focus on timely, accurate delivery of services. You will also mentor bookkeepers and accountants, establish operational standards, and drive continuous improvement.
- Tax Return Review: Oversee the review of tax returns for partnerships, S and C corporations, trusts, and individuals, with occasional preparation if needed.
- Team Supervision and Training: Mentor and train the tax team to ensure consistent quality, providing feedback for continuous improvement; document processes through training videos.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Workflow Management: Manage the tax preparation workflow to meet deadlines with accuracy.
- Collaboration: Conduct daily huddles to review pipelines, address challenges, and ensure team alignment.
- Special Projects: Handle additional projects and tax-related tasks as needed.
Preferred Software Knowledge
While not essential, familiarity with the following tools is beneficial:
- QuickBooks
- Xero
- Lacerte and ProConnect
- TaxDome
About You
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA)
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
- Strong technical knowledge in accounting and taxation
