About the job Project Management Specialist
Purpose of the Position:
- To develop and manage technology projects and their cost, time and scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, Leads, Coordinates and Controls all the project related activities 25%
- Defines project schedules, allocate resources and monitor progress, aligning these with company goals making sure that the project team is clear on objectives - 25%
- Creates, manages and maintains project plans and objectives - 20%
- Identifies and defines project resources, hardware and software platform, working area and condition, project team composition, work schedule and assignments - 15%
- Monitors production and quality of system under development and within the defined system development methodology and standards - 15%
Scope and Limitations:
- Plan, Lead, Coordinate and Control all the project related activities
- Create, manage and maintain project plans and objectives
- Define project schedules, allocate resources and monitor progress, aligning these with company goals making sure that the project team is clear on objectives
- Identify and define the project resources, hardware and software platform, working area and condition, project team composition, work schedule and assignments
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Participates and assist with design and development tasks
- Lead process of issue identification and resolution
- Identify and manage risk implementing mitigating controls and tracking process
- Manage and monitor project scope, schedule and costs
- Organize the full documentation process, ensuring all documentations are part of the promotion of the system to the production environment
- Monitors production and quality of system under development and within the defined system development methodology and standards
- Identifies and resolves issues and risks encountered in all phases of the project
- Lead meetings and set expectations for project team
- Foster partnership with customers/stakeholders/sponsors
- Reports on project progress, status, accomplishments, issues and risk
- Coordinate with other ITD to ensure the successful implementation of projects in the production environment
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements Must be a graduate of an I.T./ Computer Science or related Engineering or Technology Courses
- Experiential Requirements Must have at least five (5) years of experience as a Project Leader with both theoretical and practical project management knowledge
- Project Management qualification/certification or equivalent
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management and/or change management
- Required Interpersonal Skills: Must be a good team player, customer-oriented attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent supervisory skills.
- Proficiency in project management software tools
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Excellent decision-making and leadership capabilities
- Contract negotiation, Conflict resolution experience, Adaptability, Able to tolerate stress
- Must have full understanding and experience in Windows Server, Linux and Unix systems inclusive of applicable web and application platforms, database management systems and programming languages
