Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall direction for the unit in ensuring key result areas and the accompanying action plans are accomplished beyond expectation - 20%
- Formulates and recommends the overall design of the system architecture and infrastructure, keeping this updated ensuring optimized use of information technology and communication systems, equipment and facilities. - 20%
- Formulates and recommends the standardization of operating systems, database management system, programming languages, application and web server platforms and other system components used in delivering the services of the company. - 20%
- Responsible for providing capacity management tools are incorporated into the system architecture to ensure maximum availability and reliability from all systems, storage and network. - 20%
- Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate systems management and automation tools are in place to manage, control and monitor the system infrastructure, applications, databases and facilities. - 20%
Scope and Limitations:
- Plan, Lead, Coordinate and Control all the related activities required in maintaining the System Architecture documentation covering hardware, software and network.
- Reviews, analyzes and organizes the long-term directions of the unit in line with the overall objectives of the company
- Review all capacity management reports and recommendation to consider adjustments to be made in the overall System Architecture aligned with the business goals and objectives.
- Formulates and organizes objectives, plans and targets for the unit and breaks this down for individual assignment
- Ensures the efficient and effective delivery of the company's products and services through the rendered functions and services of the unit
- Manages and organizes activities and work that cut across several departments towards achieving defined objectives and plans
- Provide input and advice in the development and delivery of the products and services considering the functions and services delivered and handled by the unit
- Able to associate and relate the business and technical aspects of the company's products, services and operations to ensure that the direction is in line with the overall IT architecture plan
- Serves as an expert in providing areas for consideration and improvement in the field of systems architecture and infrastructure.
- Requires an adaptive and creative thinking to provide decisive and alternative approaches in process, procedures and guideline formulation.
- Process and discern what are applicable and best suitable method to be used in the improvement of the services and functions handle
- Responsible for the functions and services rendered are accurate and precise to avoid any system inconsistencies that affects the delivery and capability of the company's products and services
- Formulates and maintains the design, setup and publication of standard procedures and guidelines in the use of all systems management and automation tools
- Responsible for the design and implementation of baseline measures in the utilization of all system related resources with focus on providing pro-active triggers to allow for early detection of over utilization. Recommend options to address the deficit in the most cost effective and efficient manner
- Manages the technical working committee in the processing of Request for Information and Proposals (RFI and RFP)
- Responsible for the design and technical standards to be used for existing and upcoming systems and infrastructure. Reviews and approves the technical evaluation, weights and scoring for projects.
- Continuously keep abreast of technological advancements by attending product briefings, vendor presentation
- Conduct technology briefings or information dissemination for the executive and middle level management regarding IT trends and directions, standards, and applications
- Management of the assessment of current information systems, supporting organization, techniques / technologies / methodologies
- Establish a shared vision for the role of information systems throughout the organization and define possible use of technological advancements to address business requirements
- Design project charters and all required Project Management Oversight documentation to support the launching of high impact projects focusing on improving current systems architecture plan
- Coordinate unit activities to ensure that projects will be performed within the timelines set and with minimal impact to the project directives
- Continuously devise and promote cost cutting measures to ensure that the unit operates within operating budgets set.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Provide support for the initiatives set by the company.
Qualifications:
- Educational Requirements Must be a graduate of an I.T/ Computer Science or related Engineering or Technology Courses
- Experiential Requirements Must have at least 5 years of exposure in IT System Architecture Design related work. With at least 5 years supervisory experience leading a technical team
- Required Interpersonal Skills: Must be a good team player with a customer-oriented attitude and good oral and written communication skills. Must possess above average supervisory skills.
- Must have excellent project management skill and has the capability to handle multiple projects concurrently
- Must have extensive people management skills
