Peripheral Operator

Purpose of the Position:

• Responsible in operating and monitoring the functional status of the different peripheral equipment in the work area such as printers, personal computers, computer room fire suppression system and computer room security access system.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operates and monitor the functional status of the different peripheral equipment in the work area such as printers, personal computers, computer room fire suppression system and computer room security access system. - 25%
2. Monitors stock level of computer forms and the other supplies to prevent shortage relevant to the operation of the peripherals. - 25%
3. Ensures accurate uploading, reformatting and conversion of all uploaded input files forwarded by the concerned head office units and branches necessary for the daily batch processing. - 20%
4. Prepares daily and monthly status reports and other generated reports. - 20%
5. Maintains good housekeeping in the work area. - 10%

Scope and Limitations:

1. Prepares reports and forwards them to the SSU Head and Computer Operations Head:
   a. Daily Status Report
    - All application reports
    - Page count of all application reports printed
   b. Monthly Status Report
    - All application reports
    - Page count of all applications printed at the Data Center.
2. Receives and processes all incoming job requests coming from the head office units and e-mail requests from the branches and monitors them until completion. Provides necessary customer feedback as necessary
3. Ensures proper turnover of finished and unfinished tasks to the incoming Data Controller and Peripheral Operator
   
4. Performs data control to reports and monitors timely delivery to the users as per service level agreement
5. Operates the line printers by changing/mounting the different computer forms as required.
6. Prepares and accomplishes assigned delivery receipts/transmittal slips for all generated reports for dispatching.
7. Updates/reproduces the Delivery Receipts revised and initiated by the Production Control Unit and all the forms being used by Peripheral Operations Unit.
8. Attends to user calls/queries regarding the progress of their request and problem inquiries and complaints for resolution
9. Gives feedback to the head office and branch users regarding the status of their requests.
10. Monitors the stock level of computer forms and other supplies to prevent shortages relevant to the operation of the peripherals
11. Monitors the operational conditions of the computer room fire suppression system, line printers, and computer room security access, and reports any problem to the POU Head
12. Ensure that any entry to the main entrance of the computer room is authorized
13. Perform the boxing of run-guides, delivery receipts, transmittal slips, and validation listings for delivery to the depository
14. Inform the Unit Head of any problem that has happened and assist in finding ways to permanently prevent the occurrence of the same
15. Provides all tape requirements of the computer operator and operation analysts in the absence of the IT Custodian
16. Maintain good housekeeping in the work area
17. Perform other duties assigned by the immediate superior

Qualifications:

• Must be a college graduate preferably in computer related course.
  At least 2 years experience as a computer operator or other equivalent positions for entry level
• Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Must be knowledgeable in the operation of the line printer and the microfiche reader/printer.
• Must be very knowledgeable and have self-confidence in the Credit Memo and Debit Memo processing, and uploading of other input files.
• Must be knowledgeable in the data control of all generated reports.
• Must possess supervisory skills.

  - Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)
  - Fire Suppression System
  - Precision Air-conditioning System
  - Power Distribution Unit System"
