Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare the required backout and recovery procedures to cover all the changes performed - 20%
  2. Perform both documented procedures and develop new ones to ensure recovery from a server or storage failure. - 20%
  3. Responsible for the coordination and execution of activities which ensure disaster readiness of the secondary site - 20%
  4. Pro-actively identify, test, and implement system changes that can improve current system performance or to garner faster error resolution times - 20%
  5. Responsible for the coordination and execution of high impact server and storage related changes in support of Change / Job Request or for exception recovery - 20%

Scope and Limitations:

  1. Perform all the related activities required in maintaining optimum performance and system availability of all infrastructure involving server, storage, systems management, and automation tools.
  2. Perform problem resolution activities and coordinating the tasks related to server, storage and system management and automation tools to minimize system unavailability and ensuring proper elevation to management for the status.
  3. Coordinate and perform implementation plan of high impact system modifications taking into consideration resource availability and service level compliance to end-customers.
  4. Perform and coordinate recovery processes of system software and database (restore, reconfiguration) in the Business Recovery Center Facility ensuring compliance to business continuity objectives in coordination with DCSD and ISD
  5. Plan and execute system patching activity in support regular vulnerability assessment and plan and prepare and perform backout procedure if required
  6. Continuously devise and promote cost cutting measures to ensure unit operates within operating budgets set.
  7. Perform other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Requirements - Must be a graduate of an I.T./ Computer Science or related Engineering or Technology Courses
  • Experiential Requirements - Must have at least 1 year of exposure in System Administration / Technical Support related work. 
  • Required Interpersonal Skills: Must be a good team player with a customer oriented attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills. Must possess excellent supervisory skills.
  • Must have excellent time management skills and be able to handle multiple workloads
  • Must have excellent problem determination skills
  • Must have extensive systems administration experience in Windows Server systems from 2008 onwards, Linux Flavors
  • Must have extensive systems administration experience in departmental and enterprise storage system solution either directly attached or through storage switch
  • Must have extensive understanding of networking capabilities, tuning and maintenance within the server operating systems and storage systems
