Job Purpose
- Position is responsible for managing client (principal & crew) relationships, as well as developing new business from existing customers, through the delivery of a positive customer experience.
- Performs other functions or participates in ad-hoc projects as may be assigned from time to time.
Organization Relationships
- Function will report to the VP/AVP for Crewing Operations and will directly supervise the Crewing Manager and Asst Crewing Manager.
Main Accountabilities/Key Results Areas:
Financial
- Develops annual strategic plans and budget for the fleet in consideration with corporate directions, feedback from principals and input from staff.
- Achieves revenue targets through implementation of strategies and action plans.
- Monitors budget for the fleet to ensure that actual expenses are maintained within approved levels
- Conducts industry benchmarking to determine and counter competitor activities.
- Undertakes sales negotiations to ensure attainment of manning contract that will be beneficial to both client and company.
- Monitors business development activities of staff to ensure that business opportunities are thoroughly explored and taken advantage of.
Internal Process
- Performs work within the standards of the companys Quality Management System and Environmental Management System.
- Ensures that quality policies and operational procedures are implemented and followed within the accounts being handled.
Customer Focus
- Establish and maintain meaningful business relationships with both internal and external customers to facilitate effective and efficient delivery of services.
- Attends to inquiries of existing and prospective clients and makes proposals for crewing services in consultation with the Associate Vice President and/or Senior Vice President for Crewing Operations.
- Provides relevant ideas and needed support that will result to business development, revenue generation, cost-savings or customer retention.
- Build up pool and retention (Crew and Principal).
Internal Process
- Manages staff and staff activities ensuring crewing procedures are followed in accordance with prescribed standards.
- Disseminates a current, complete, accurate and relevant information procedures and regulations to all concerned persons.
- Disseminates and updates all concerned on relevant information concerning policies and procedures.
- Monitor submission of required management reports completely and accurately with Accounting relative to the timely and accurate preparation of statements of account and processing of crew allotment and other payments (based on agreed wage and benefits)

- Takes an active role in group activities and/or team projects (ad-hoc or otherwise) to ensure meeting department goals and objectives.

- Demonstrates unquestionable integrity and honesty in all dealings with both internal and external partners / customers.
- Complies with government legislation and company policies, and ensures staff compliance with the same.
- Attends relevant training programs and developmental activities, as planned, ensuring completeness of 32 training hours per year
- Participates in the corporate social responsibility project of the company as its contribution to sustainability.
- Participates in the creation of the Individual Development Plan and executes application of learning for career development.
- Disciplines staff for non-observance of company policies and ethical practices.
- Performs other HR line functions (hiring, coaching, firing, goal-setting, delegating, etc.
- Regularly conducts a one-on-one dialogue or section meeting with staff to address company / department / function-related issues, concerns and expectations.
- Undertakes and monitors training, development, coaching and motivating of direct reports with the objective of developing a competent and viable team.
Additional Information:
- The role operates on a highly regulated environment. As such, compliance to relevant maritime laws and regulations (both local and international) is highly expected. Thus, incumbent should have the necessary knowledge to put these regulations into practice.
