TASQ is seeking a Lead Consultant for Business Intelligence and Analytics to work remotely from 5pm to 2am Philippine Time. Due to logistical considerations, only applicants based in the Philippines will be considered for the role.
We are looking for Lead Consultants with expertise in Power BI, especially focusing on data quality. Power BI's core strength relies on having reliable data. Candidates should have advanced knowledge of Power BI and its components like PowerQuery/M, DAX, and dimensional modeling. Basic report design experience is also necessary. Knowledge of traditional SQL Server tools such as data warehouse design, SSIS, and SSRS, along with DirectQuery, is beneficial. Its important to understand Power BI licensing models and help clients choose the best options for their business. Experience working with the Databricks platform to build and optimize data pipelines is required. Good communication skills are essential for working with clients, their staff, and technical specialists like database developers and software engineers. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and a good understanding of both technical and business aspects of BI. Staying updated with the latest Power BI features is also important. Your main responsibilities will include meeting with clients to understand their reporting needs. Youll collaborate on Power BI licensing options, understanding the strengths and limitations of each. Building efficient star schema data models, including calculated columns and measures, will be part of your work. You will develop Power BI solutions by importing data from various sources, designing reports and dashboards, and creating data elements with DAX and source queries. Guiding clients on deploying these solutions in the Power BI servicecovering gateways, DirectQuery, data flows, and refreshesis also required.
Candidates should have at least a bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Five or more years of experience working with data and BI solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem or other tools like Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, or SAP is needed. Familiarity with TSQL, data modeling, and reporting in Power BI or similar tools is important. Experience in creating comprehensive reports that include linked content, drill-downs, and nested parameters is essential. Advanced DAX skills for dynamic measures, along with data mashups and transformations using Power Query/M, are valuable. Experience with the Databricks platform for building data pipelines is also required. The ability to communicate visual choices and report interactions clearly is important. Designing user-friendly interfaces that require minimal training for end-users is part of the role. You should also be able to gather requirements and conduct focus groups to understand business processes.
Professional skills needed include a strong interest in teamwork. Excellent communication skillsboth written and verbalare necessary to work with both technical and non-technical teams. A passion for learning new technologies and a problem-solving mindset are highly desirable. The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment is also important.
Additional preferred experience includes managing Power BI tenants and workspaces for development, testing, and deployment. Skills in creating custom visualizations with Python or R in Power BI, advanced SQL including query tuning, and data quality assessment are advantageous. Experience deploying Power BI reports on-premises using Power BI Report Server or embedding reports with Power BI Embedded is a plus. Knowledge of deploying cloud-based Power BI solutions on Azure, such as Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and SQL Database, is also beneficial.
