Job Purpose:
The HR Manager will lead HR functions, ensuring effective management of talent acquisition, employee relations, retention, and performance management. The role involves collaborating with the HR team in Davao, while also overseeing HR systems, payroll, and data analysis. This position reports directly to the EVP/CEO and contributes to creating a positive and productive work environment, aligned with the company's strategic objectives.
BASIC FUNCTIONS
1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment:
- Sourcing Candidates: Identifying and attracting potential candidates through various recruitment channels.
- Interviewing and Selection: Conducting interviews and assessments to select the most suitable candidates.
- Onboarding: Ensuring a smooth transition for new hires through effective onboarding processes.
2. Employee Relations & Retention:
- Employee Support: Addressing concerns and resolving disputes to maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Retention Programs: Designing and implementing initiatives that help retain top talent, such as employee welfare and engagement programs.
- Conflict Resolution: Handling employee grievances and disputes, ensuring fair and consistent treatment.
3. Performance Management:
- Setting Performance Standards: Defining clear goals and expectations for employee performance.
- Appraisals & Feedback: Conducting regular performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
- Rewards & Recognition: Managing systems for recognizing and rewarding high performers.
4. HR Systems & Data Management:
- HR Software Management: Using HR management systems (HRIS, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) to store and manage employee data.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyzing HR data, generating reports, and presenting insights to improve HR functions.
- Payroll Systems: Managing payroll processes to ensure timely and accurate compensation for employees (collaborate with the Davao HR Payroll Officer)
5. Training & Development:
- Identifying Training Needs: Analyzing skill gaps and determining appropriate training programs.
- Employee Development: Coordinating and delivering training to enhance employee skills and performance.
- Leadership Development: Ensuring that management and leadership receive necessary training for growth.
6. Legal Compliance & Policy Development:
- HR Policies: Developing, reviewing, and implementing company policies related to employment, benefits, and workplace conduct.
- Compliance: Ensuring that HR practices comply with local labor laws and regulations.
- Employee Contracts: Preparing and managing employment contracts and agreements.
7. Collaboration with the Davao HR Team:
- Support & Mentorship: Providing ongoing guidance and support to the Davao HR team to build their capacity in managing HR functions.
- Consistency in HR Practices: Ensuring that HR practices are aligned across both locations until the Davao team can operate independently.
- Knowledge Sharing: Regularly sharing best practices, resources, and tools to strengthen HR processes.
8. Employee Engagement & Workplace Culture:
- Employee Satisfaction: Measuring and improving employee satisfaction through surveys, feedback, and engagement activities.
- Workplace Culture: Promoting a positive, inclusive, and healthy work environment that reflects company values.
- Event Coordination: Organizing employee events, team-building activities, and wellness programs to boost morale.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Leadership & HR Strategy:
- Lead HR functions for the Manila location, ensuring alignment with the company's HR policies and strategies.
- Collaborate with the Davao HR team for consistent HR practices and support until the team is capable of managing independently.
- Develop and implement HR programs to meet organizational goals while enhancing employee engagement and retention.
- Provide HR guidance and leadership to the senior management team, reporting to the EVP/CEO.
2. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment:
- Oversee recruitment processes, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding of candidates.
- Manage and facilitate employee induction and training programs for new hires.
- Partner with the Davao HR team to share resources and knowledge for talent acquisition, ensuring consistency in recruitment across regions.
3. Employee Relations & Retention:
- Maintain a positive and supportive work culture by managing employee relations effectively.
- Address employee concerns, disputes, and grievances in a timely and empathetic manner.
- Design and implement employee retention programs, including wellness and welfare initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Davao HR team on best practices to ensure a unified approach to employee relations across regions.
4. Performance Management:
- Develop and manage performance standards, appraisal processes, and employee development plans.
- Administer rewards, recognition programs, and performance feedback systems to promote high performance.
- Monitor and assess performance data to recommend improvements and ensure alignment with company objectives.
5. HR Software & Data Analysis:
- Oversee HR software systems (HRIS/HRMS, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) to ensure effective tracking of employee data, performance, and HR metrics.
- Analyze HR data and generate insightful reports, presenting trends, challenges, and opportunities to management.
- Collaborate with the Davao HR team to ensure consistent use of HR software across locations.
6. Payroll Management:
- Oversee the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Work closely with Davao HR team to ensure proper alignment of payroll with attendance and leave data.
- Monitor payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly to maintain employee satisfaction.
7. Training & Development:
- Identify training and development needs for employees and management, supporting their professional growth.
- Collaborate with the Davao HR team to align training initiatives and share resources for cross-regional development.
- Develop and implement training programs to improve employee skills and performance across the organization.
8. Collaboration with Davao HR Team:
Work closely with the Davao HR team to share knowledge, provide guidance, and develop HR processes until the team can manage independently.
Provide ongoing support and mentorship to the Davao HR team, helping them build the necessary skills to oversee HR functions on their own.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business
- Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- A Master's degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or Organizational Development is a plus.
Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
- Certification from a recognized HR body (e.g., CHRA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Training in HR software systems like HRIS/HRMS, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
Relevant Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a multi-location or multi-department organization.
- Proven track record in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and retention.
Experience with HR Systems:
- Hands-on experience with HRIS/HRMS, payroll systems, and HR analytics tools.
- Familiarity with performance management systems and recruitment platforms.
Employee Relations:
- Prior experience in handling employee grievances, conflict resolution, and ensuring a positive work culture.
Training and Development Experience:
- Experience in identifying training needs, designing programs, and delivering employee development initiatives.

- Manage payroll systems to ensure accurate and timely employee compensation.
- Monitor and resolve any payroll discrepancies promptly.
7. Conflict Resolution:
- Facilitate conflict resolution processes and mediate between employees and management.
- Develop strategies to handle employee grievances and prevent future conflicts.
8. Training & Development:
- Identify training needs for leadership and employees.
- Develop or source training programs to upskill employees and enhance productivity.
- Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as necessary.
